Smog Veil Clearing The Air Newsletter #98, April 2012

HERE WE GO:

OK, so lots of Smog Veil bands on the road this spring: Rocket From The Tombs has added a couple more dates in Europe, Ralph Carney's Serious Jass Project makes a trip to the UK, and The Buzz Clic Adventure makes their debut.  Gigs this month also from Obnox.  And, don't miss one of your last chances to ever see Face Value, this time in Columbus.  All the details are below.

This Moment In Black History returns with a one-sided 7-inch release.  'Family Day At Euclid Beach' is the title of the release and the screamer of a song appearing here, augmented by an extra song available with the included free download code. Black vinyl, etched on the b-side.  Strictly limited to one pressing of 500 copies, this will not be repressed.  Note that this will ship around April 30.

If you bought the Obnox debut LP, I'm Bleeding Now', thank you, it's all sold out (although some retailers may still have it, check around).  If you're a low budget freak that couldn't scrape together the scratch, we pressed up an equally cheap-ass cassette with a neat full-color insert available at a budget friendly price.  Same tuneage as the LP.

hearpen.com has a new release, this time a reissue of a long lost solo release from David Thomas titled "Vocal Performances."  Here's what we know of it: Vocal Performances was a 12-inch vinyl single released by Rough Trade Records US in 1981. 'Sloop John B' is the original vocal performance, recorded in a London hotel room, that was later overdubbed with drums and trumpet to appear on The Sound of the Sand & Other Songs of the Pedestrian.  Ralph Carney joins David on 1 track.
